The King’s Throne

Writer, do you know where courage begins? Everything has a starting point, writer. And courage is no different. For us, courage begins with our King. Here is where He mentions it…

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. – Hebrews 4:16

You see, writer, courage begins in the throne room of our King—having courage to approach Him and to trust Him for the mercy and grace that we need. To have courage to trust Him with indeed keep His words to us.

Because here’s the thing. There is no greater courage we can receive than to know our King will back His words. When we understand this, we can move in confidence regardless of circumstances. Just like Abraham and Isaac when Abraham went to offer his son…fully confident that if he did, God would still keep His promise to bless the world through Isaac’s line.

But here is the interesting thing, writer. Abraham did not get to that place with God overnight. No. That kind of courageous faith grew choice after choice, decision after decision, over decades. Choices to trust. And even some not to. Each built Abraham’s faith because—regardless of his success or failure—he refused to give up.

Because here’s the other thing, Courage is developed not just by coming once—but by continuing to come in faith of God’s goodness and faithfulness to keep His words.

So how about you, writer? Is there a place—an area of your life where you need to boldly approach the throne of the King? Or is there an area of promise where you simply need to come again? And keep coming? I promise you, that if you persist, God will keep His promises to you! His track record is one hundred percent!

So I encourage you, today. Don’t give up! Approach the throne boldly for what you need. Then faithfully pick up your pen and write again!
