Writer, have you ever wondered how to walk out your life and your writing? Sometimes, it can be complicated to know what next right step to take—but I have good news for you, today! Our King has a simple instruction for us as we walk. It’s simply this…
“…for we walk by faith and not by sight.” – 2 Corinthians 5:7
Isn’t that beautiful, writer? Sometimes, the thing that makes our path complicated is that we get busy looking at the stuff around us! We let our minds be confused by conflicting inputs. But, here’s the thing. The best path forward when you receive a word from God is to simply fix your gaze and go by faith—not in you or your path, even—but in Him, the one who is guiding you.
And here’s the other thing. Even if your next step has become unclear, sometimes it’s not where we walk that matters, but how we walk.
For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith]. As it is written, The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith. – Romans 1:17
But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out]. – Hebrews 11:6
So sometimes—even if you are off—it is better to keep moving forward by faith. Because, here’s the beautiful thing. Faith is simply trust in God and His guidance. When we find ourselves adrift, you can trust Him—moving forward by faith—and allow God to guide you into His paths of peace.
Because here’s the final thing—and it’s great encouragement, too. When you come with faith and trust in Our King. He will never fail to see you through. Regardless of all mistakes and failures, He will guide you in His paths of righteousness, working all things for your good.
So take heart, today, writer! And take the next step! Our King will see you through!
